Green Canyon

On Saturday we went to Green Canyon with some friends. David loves Green Canyon and worked up enough courage to jump off the diving board!
Mike showing David how it's done...
Sadie enjoyed sitting on the stairs with Audrey!
She did not enjoy going into the deep water with Mike... Help
After we had a big BBQ. Thanks guys for slaving over the hot fire cooking us those wonderful hot dogs and brats and marshmellows! 3 out of the 4 girls that were there were very pregnant, so we spent most of our time sitting at the tables eating. GOOD TIMES!

Healthy Cupcakes

My kids call muffins "healthy cupcakes" I don't know how "healthy" these are, but they are delish!

Meet Gordon!

This is Gordon, the leopard gecko that joined our family yesterday. I was at DI and found a wonderful fish tank for $4 dollars. We ended up going to the Pet Store and this is what David picked out.
We surprised Mike with our new family member, Gordon wasn't greeted with open arms... (Mike is not really a reptile person, although he says a lizard is better than a hampster.)This morning David held Gordon for the first time. It was halarious. Gordon started crawling up David's arm and he panicked abit a flung Gordon across the room. Now when David holds him, he gets a towl and puts Gordon on the towel in his lap.
Sadie is very curious about our new pet also, she enjoys petting his tail and squeals with delight whenever he moves.
The reptile expert at the pet store told me that Gordon may live until he is 15 years old, we'll see how long he lasts in our house. Now I have to find a supply of crickets in Rexburg for Gordon to eat.

Biking Babes

Today David mastered riding his bike WITHOUT HIS TRAINING WHEELS! There was an airshow this morning and we set up chairs right outside our front door and we had a good view of the planes. But David was more interested in riding his bike like a 'big boy' I can't believe how quick he figured it out.

Sadie of course followed right behind on her little bike. She wants to do everything David does! And on a side note, we caught one BIG ugly mouse. The traps are still set, hopefully he was the only one.

shoot me please....

Shoot me in the head ....
So yesterday morning I opened my dishtowel drawer and found a VERY UNPLEASANT SURPRISE!!!!!!!! Mice droppings. Luckily Mike was still home and we went on a search. I cleaned out ALL my drawers, washed everything and saw no further evidence. Then last night, the kids and I were putting toys away in the toy room cleaning up, and I saw MORE mice droppings ontop of a chest of drawers in the toy room! There are SO many toys in that room, I took EVERYTHING out of there, totally cleaned the room , and disinfected EVERY toy. It took hours. Mike went to Walmart and got some traps. This morning we checked the 2 traps we had set, and those stinkin mice stole the cheese right off of them without getting caught! I am SO MAD. I am off to the store again to get some different traps to exterminate these PESTS and then home to sanitize everything. We are not sure how they got in, either a door that the kids or I left open while in the backyard or through a crack where the door wasn't sealed. DISGUSTING!

The Running Man

Today Mike ran in the Teton Dam Marathon! He and 5 other people were on a relay team called Snakes and ladders. Mike started out the race at 6:30 am. and ran 4 miles! David and Sadie were so excited to see dad run!
Tyson and Mike... victory.

The race ended at Smith Park. There were some pretty amazing runners. We saw many relay teams of all ages, the mayor, senior citizens and families all running together.

The team met at smith park and ran the final bit together.
One day I am going to complete a marathon, after alot of training of course. Mike had a great time, and maybe next he year will do the 5 or 10K run...

circus circus

Last night the circus came to town! This was my first 'small town' circus and it was full of the usual things. Tigers jumping through hoops of fire, acrobatic girls dangling high above the crowds, Bears riding bikes, Elephants doing tricks, Motorcycle stunts, juggling swords, clowns, and of course the unsavory circus carnies and overpriced games and toys. We had a great time, David especially liked the animals. His excited face below shows his enjoyment when the elephants first made their appearance.
What memorable outing would be complete without a family pic?The Lions and Tigers were pretty cool

These girls were probably my favorite, they would climb up these high ropes and perform amazing stunts.

We had great seats right in front of the center ring thanks to our friends Jen and Rob!

help

Apparently I have no idea what I am doing with our salt water aquarium. The rocks are completely covered with red fuzzy algae, despite my diligent cleaning efforts this algae just comes back faster than I can get rid of it. I have taken water samples to the pet store and they say the water is fine... who knows. If anyone has a knowledge in salt water fish please help.
Sadie looking just as cute as ever...She has had a rough week. On Firday she hit the pavement with her face at the spray park, and then on Saturday she fell off a chair at Jamba Juice and split her chin. The Broulims pharmasists told me to butterfly it. She looks pretty beat up with all of her bandaids. Then on Monday and Tuesday Sadie and Mike had a stomach bug or a touch of food poisoning, so they have both been out of commission for the past couple of days. David has been a great helper and has done such a good job taking care of his sick dad and sister. Today has really been our first fun day this week where we've actually gone outside to play.
Today at preschool, David was given 'curious george' to take hom for the weekend. We are suppossed to take George with us wherever we go and do fun activities and then write about our experiences with george in a journal. So this morning we went for a bike ride to the nature park to feed the ducks. I think George really enjoyed himself.
Spray Park fun (before she hurt her face).
Sadie will not let me put pants or shorts on her lately, it always has to be a 'pretty dress'. She is so into shoes, nails and pretty things already and she isn't even 2 yet.
