My little stud, who is getting to be such a big boy.

Today I went to the doctor and had to do that diabetes test where you have to drink that sugary beverage, nasty, and then wait an hour and do a blood test, yikes, I hate blood tests, I have to lay down and have some juice and a cookie after every blood test I get... the worst part of my last labour was getting the iv inserted, ohhh I hate needles. ohh the good news, I don't have prego diabetes.

The weather has been really cold here the past few days, I am missing that 90 degree weather. I am glad it is friday, We might make a trip to Idaho Falls tonight and go to Winco.... (what an exciting life I lead). Winco is a huge warehouse type grocery store where you have to bag and haul your own groceries and I hate going there because of that. You defiantly save on groceries, but it is all the way in Idaho Falls, and it is a tiresome journey to go there especially when I go by myself. I would much rather just run down the street to lovely, clean, mother friendly Broulims...

Lake Hava-who

Our little family has had some big adventures this past week. After Mike's Graduation last Saturday we started our journey to lake Havasu. It was a long drive, especially long for our driving companions Brandon and Lyndsie, but Davey was a very good boy, we watched Shrek 2 about 10 times but it kept him quiet. We overnighted in St. George and got to Lake Havasu on Sunday afternoon. It was so hot there, 90 degrees and above, one thing that I noticed however was the lack of grass... everything was concrete and rock, that would explain the bumps and bruises all over Davey's head, he had a couple good wipe outs.

We boated almost everyday, except for Thrusday because it was too windy. The water was pretty rough for wakeboarding, but the boys loved to surf. David and I were pretty much spectators, our job was to hold the flag.. we did jump in the water once in awhile to cool down.
We saw the "london bridge" and there is this neat canal in the middle of the Lake with shops and parks on either side, so we'd park the boat and walk to get some ice cream or a snow cone. At nights we would go in the hot tub and pool and watch movies and just relax, it was a good getaway. We left on Saturday afternoon and got home on Sunday afternoon. A very fun trip but I don't think I'll be planning another trip were alot of driving is involved for awhile...

Now that we are back at home, Mike has started work again, I have forgotten how long the day is when we don't get to see him until 6 or so at night, I guess I am just used to him being in school with breaks throughout the day. But it is nice when he does get home becuase both Davey and Mike are so excited to see each other they just play and I get to have a little bit of a break.

Graduation

We have had such a busy week. On Saturday morning we had Mike's Grad convication and ceremony, Elder Eyring and Elder Hales were both there. It was so exciting to see Mike walk and get his diploma. After all that school it is so nice to be finished. It was a long time to sit, but well worth it. I went to the ceremony with Mike's Grandma Cooper, and David enjoyed some play time with his little friend Kamryn.

The good stuff

Jeni, this post is for you! I just wanted to say how good the Cafe Rio sauce is. I make it at least once a week, and as you can see from this picture, I am not the only one who is in love. I gave Davey some chicken and veggies and rice and put a little of the sauce on, but that didn't satisfy, he wasn't happy until I gave him a little plate full of sauce so he could do his own dipping. Thank you so much for posting the recipe, so yummy.

Mike is VERY busy, he has 3 finals today, I am hoping once he gets home from them he will be a little less "on edge" He will do great, and then the big convication is on Saturday. Elder Erying is coming to speak.

Mike's parents are in New York right now, and since they couldn't be here for the actual grad, we had a party for him the other day at the clubhouse. Wll his dad hooked him up with all new wakeboard stuff. He got a new board, bindings (I think that's what you call them) new gloves and even a really cool new case, I even got him a helmet (for safety, he is a dad of two almost) Ne ways, Mike was so excited to use this new stuff that he and Brandon have planned this big boating trip to Lake Havasu. We rented this house there for a week and are leaving on Saturday after Mike's grad. It is going to be fun, My dad and Carl might even stop on their way home. I suppose Davey and I will do the flag since I won't be jumping on the wakeboard.. arrghhh Oh well. It is supposed to be 93 degrees there. can't wait!
