Rapids

Today we braved the new water park. Public swimming opened at 1:00 this afternoon and we arrived right at 1:00 and found a HUGE lineup already. We waited for almost an hour to get through the gates. Once we finally entered the park the kids were in heaven.
It was a very hot day and I am sure that every mother in town was there. The babes loved the kids splash area as well as the lazy river. We didn't even attempt the big slides, I think the babes might have been too short anyways... We had lots of friends there to play with so the kids were so happy.

I had eagle eyes on my babes the entire time, it was hard to keep track of them with all the people.
Next time we go I will know to bring some folding chairs to sit on, a life jacket for sadie for the lazy river, a bathing suit for myself (I didn't realize I would be getting so wet) and an umbrella.

Egin Lake

Yesterday while Mike had to make a quick trip to Utah, the babes and I made a little trip out to Egin Lake. Hill and Will came with us and we had a lovely day. We brought out a cooler of food, sand toys and a blanket for me to lounge on.

Egin lake is a great place for kids, the water never gets deeper than my knees, and the water is pretty warm. The sand on the beach is so soft and there are tadpoles to catch!

Dave and Sade played on the sand and Cali enjoyed working on her tan and eating.

Good thing Will was there to help construct the sand castle and catch the tadpoles.
My pretty sister and I

We caught a bunch of tadpoles and the babes insisted on bringing them home in a water bottle....

Mike was greeted with the bottle of tadpoles when he returned home. Now we get to watch the little creatures turn into frogs.

a little bit of random

Happy late fathers day to all the great dads out there. My babies daddy got spoiled this year, (not really) the kids made him a t-shirt and I got him a sonicare toothbrush!!!

The babes were eager to help open presents!

My sis is getting hitched and I threw her a bachelorette party last week. It was a HOOT! We had LOTS of good food, fun games and crazy laughs! Mike was outside working on the lawn and said he could hear screams and shrieks of loud girls coming from inside.I love my sis and am SO excited for her and Mr. Winn!

Warm weather has come and with it popsicles, sprinklers, bikes, sunburns, bbq's and all the other fun parts of summer! David and his homies enjoying the sun...

Calista is really into babies lately, she wants to take at least one baby everywhere she goes. She is already a good mama, she sings, rocks, distributes bottles and gives her babies kisses. She is going to be a GREAT big sis.

Went for my official ultrasound, yep no question it's still a girl.

While my parents were here, we took my dad to the sand dunes to ride bikes and 4-wheelers. We had so much fun. I want to go up there one night for a big bonfire!

And WE GOT GRASS!!!! Last friday Mike, Paula, Michelle, and some awesome friends of ours came and laid sod. They were so fast and it looks so good! THANK YOU SO MUCH to those that helped.

waiting for HOT

We have had a few nice days, maybe enough to count on one hand. It has been so windy and rainy. But on the nice days we are really taking advantage of them. We have the best neighbors and the kids have found lots of great friends.

Calista really loves being outside with the big kids too.

Mamma Kare bear has been here for a few weeks. She has been cleaning, cooking, sewing and helping Hill with wedding details!

We took the boat out last week, it was a chilly adventure and we were only on the water for about an hour then the wind and rain picked up...

Cali loved the boat and she is going to be the one I have to watch like a hawk this year on the water.

Dave was brave and jumped in the water for a little swim, but the water felt like ICICLES to me.... brrrr.

One of these days once the dirt dries out the sprinkler man is going to come and get us ready for some grass.... YAHOO!!!

the fishermen

David caught dinner!

A few days ago David was invited to go fishing with one of his pals. He was so excited to go, and even more excited when he got home to show off his catches!

Luckily for me, David's friend's dad took care of the fish preperation, and brought over some beautiful de-boned fish fillets ready for eating. With a little butter, lemon and salt and pepper David's catch was delish.
