kindergarten king

David has his first day of kindergarten today. He arose early, made his bed, ate a good breakfast, brushed his teeth and got dressed all without being asked...He was READY for school.
We dropped the little guy off at his classroom and in he went with a brief wave, leaving me outside with tears in my eyes. He was SO brave! He was really excited to ride the bus home as well. It stops right outside of our house! He had a great first day and can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Palisades

On Tuesday after Sadie's preschool we headed up to Palisades to meet Mike where he was working for a few days. He brought up his parents big camper and the babes had a blast. Mike had a fire ready for us, and we made s'mores.
Next the kids wanted to go fishing, we walked down to the water right at dusk at it was pretty much mosquito paradise.
We didn't get any bites, besides the bites that we received from the mosquitos.
David LOVED to fish.
This is how I spent my time, covered head to toe, the mosquitos really like me, must be all the extra juicy blood I have running through me right now...
Movies and Snacks followed, and of course a very late night.
The next day Mike had to work, so the babes and I did some exploring. We fished again, found 2 big parks to play at, went on a hike and found a great little sandy beach to play at.

When Mike was finished working we went for another hike down to the river, we found a great swimming hole and had a dip, and ate burgers and milkshakes at the "Cheeseburger Factory". Then headed back to the camper for bed.
We had so much fun, David stayed with Mike another night and had some boy time. I cannot believe summer is almost over, it is very hot here and we are trying to squeeze all the fun summer activities in before school starts.

First day of school and the pole

Today was Sadie's first day of preschool. She is going to the same place that David went. Sadie was so excited to get ready and go this morning. She looked so cute! Once I dropped her off, and she realized I wasn't staying she was a little sad, but when we picked her up she was all smiles!

Calista was really excited for Sadie!!!

David starts school next week...both he and I are very happy for that!

This is a lamp post outside our house. The other night we were sitting outside playing and David was really trying to climb this pole, but he wasn't getting very far...David asked Mike if he could climb to the top of the pole and touch the light. Mike did it and said to David "When you can climb to the top of the pole like me, I will buy you a motorbike" David's eyes got really big and said "Wow, really dad???" and they shook hands on it...(Mike is thinking this will take years to accomplish...)

Well the next day we were outside talking to some neighbors and David yells for us, we look over and he has climbed to the top of the pole and is touching the light... " You owe me a motorbike Dad" he yells... I just started laughing...Mike better pay up. hahaha

The past few weeks

A few weeks ago as Hill was getting ready to go home for the semester, the babes and I decided to hitch a ride to Calgary with her. It was a squishy ride in her 2 door Alero car, but the babes were very good travelers. We stopped at Great Falls for the night and stayed at a fun hotel with water slides! We spent 2 weeks there, and did alot! Some highlights include....

Trips to Costco and getting matching track suits

Rieley Park Fun

Going to the great malls....I miss good shopping.

Spending time with my cousin and her kids at the lake

The Lobster boil my dad had in the backyard. The 70 pounds of live lobsters were delivered to the house the day before and the babes were so fascinated

Going to Banff to celebrate Mike's birthday. When asked where he wanted to eat, of course Mike choose to get a St. James burger.

Going to the zoo

Cali getting into mischief... spilling red nail polish on my sis's wedding shoes and Mom's carpet (see my mom's blog for more details regarding this)... pushing little kids around at the mall playland...falling out of the car and scraping her nose...coloring all over Grandma's walls and carpet...etc...but she is SO C.U.T.E!!!

Eating lots of good food.

Going for lots of picnics and playing at lots of fun parks.

We had a great trip and are sad it is over. Mike is back to work, I am back to my usual mom duties, and the babes are almost back to school. (Sadie starts preschool today!!!!)
