Zoolander

David is having a great time here in Calgary, his favorite thing here by far is Bo, the dog. From the moment he wakes up his first words are "puppy" and "Bo Bo". They are buddies. On Friday we arrived here about 5:00 just in time for Hillary's surprise sweet 16th birthday. I had to get her out of the house, so we went and got a bubble tea and then came home to a bunch of friends on the deck yelling SURPRISE! It was pretty fun. On Saturday Mom, Dad, Mike and I took davey to the zoo. I hadn't been forever and the zoo had changed so much. For sure the best part was the African house with the Giraffe and Hippos. We probably spent 45 mins watching the hippos. That night Mom and Dad babysat so Mike and I could enjoy a nice relaxing dinner out. Mike had to go home Monday to work, I guess someone has got to make the money right Mike? We miss you though....

Yesterday was Mom's birthday, so we had a good day with her and went out for dinner, even though Dad had to leave for Montreal on a business trip that morning. And today Mom and I took Davey shopping to the mall, always a fun experience.
David's Zoolander face, he does this when he is really excited about somthing...

A day at the zoo

The petting zoo was a big hit!

Tigers...
David loved the monkeys, they were his favorite.

Today we went to the Idaho Falls zoo. We had such a fun time. David saw penguins, ducks, donkeys, goats, sheeps, tigers, lions, monkeys, and many more. We wore the little guy out, he didn't want to be in his stroller or be carried, he just wanted to run. After the zoo we came home and ate at our new fav resturant, teton thai only to learn that they are closing in a week due to lack of business... oh well. We hit the park on the way home and put the little guy to bed. Fun day!

green thumb

David and I had a very busy day yesterday. We woke up early, had breakfast and went to the garden nursery to get our flowers to plant. Daivd was such a 'great helper' as we did our work. Imagine mud everywhere, water everywhere, overturned flower pots, trampled flowers and David covered head to toe in dirt. That's pretty much how the morning played out. But he loved watering and helping me dig holes for the flowers to go. Our little cement pad backyard is actually loking much better now that we have some vegetation back there. Also it helps having some place to sit, Mike got me this patio set for mothers day. I love it, we broke it in last night by having Brandon and Lyndz over for a BBQ. Now I just need to find a matching umbrella.
David admiring his planting work with a beater of whip cream.
We also went to the new water park that they have in Rexburg, It is this big plastic park with tons of slides and fountains everywhere. There is this masive bucket above it all that fills with water and just dumps over everything, Little kids LOVE it! I am sure we will be making it a daily trip to go there. We are planning a trip to Calgary on the 24th of May, I am looking forward to going to the zoo with David!

Mike's favorite breakfast

Look at this little monkey. We have been going on a ton of big walks in his stroller and Davey loves them. So this morning as I was typing this recipe onto the blog I look over and David is sitting in his stroller saying "Walking" He climbed in there himself and was all ready to go.

Every Saturday Mike loves to make these special pancakes, and they are just so good I wanted to post the recipe.

Banana Sour-cream pancakes

2 Bananas chopped

dry:
1 1/2 Cups flour

3 Tbsp sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp salt

Mix the dry ingredients together

wet:
1/2 cup sour cream

3/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp milk

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

zest of one lemon

Whisk the wet ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix until just combined. (Don't overmix) Butter the griddle and spoon onto griddle. When bubbles appear on the top, add the chopped bananas to the pancake. Flip and serve with hot syrup! SOOO YUMMY

New Bike

Ahhhhh, Little Davey got his first bike this week. Where we live there are tons of little kids around his age, and everytime he see's one of them riding their little tricycles and scooters he tries to get on them, so we found him this little one. He is still learning how to ride it, I end up pushing him from the back which doesn't last very long, becuase it is quite uncomfortable to be hunched over for more than a few minutes, but I am sure in a few weeks he will have it down. It has been so nice out lately for the most part, so we are walking up and down the streets of our little complex all day long, it is so much fun, I love it.

The new park at our house.. soo fun for davey

Big C is living here for the summer working with Brandon, he is liking it, but I don't know how he is liking getting up at 5:30... Mike is keeping pretty busy at work as well. This weekend we didn't do too much, we went out for dinner with Brandon and Lyndsie on Friday night, then on Saturday we went into Idaho Falls and did some shopping and Carl, and Mike and Brandon and Lyndz went to Spiderman 3 last night, I stayed home with Davey, and had a nice quiet evening.. did a face mask, painted my nails and watched a lifetime movie.. ohhhh lifetime. Now I have to go get David to bed, it keeps getting later and later each night...
